Title: Moments Fandom: Transformers (movie 07 verse) Pairing: Bee x Sam Theme Set: Beta (To note -- I haven't posted this on 1sentence. >__< But I am very grateful for the theme list. :] I hope it's not a problem...) Rating: Ranges from PG to R. ^^ Warnings: *cough* There's a section called 'Sensual Moments' -- It's the only section that has anything above PG. ^^; Also, the extent to which I've stretched the basic laws of grammar is... astounding. Um, it might scramble your brains a bit, so I'm sorry... ^^; Notes: Wow, this was difficult for me! @__@ I'm afraid I sort of lost steam at the end, so I'm sorry if some of these sentences truly suck. >__< Also, some might seem a little bit repetitive, but I want to say that I wrote them originally in chronological order, so it wasn't until after when I thought "I probably have some themes within the themes! :D" that I broke them up like so. ^^ I would go back and edit them so that they read more smoothly in this order, but I lack the motivation! ^^; Also, I'm afraid this mini project has inadvertently made my teachers lose patience with me. ^__^; I haven't been able to do anything but write this week! xD Wow, this is a long note, so I'm sorry. :3
Quiet Moments
15. Breathing
It was a familiar place, a familiar sound; Sam curled up inside of him, just breathing.
29. Melody
Sam laid across the seats, and it felt kind of like he was apart from the entire world right now, the blotted sound of a sprinkler outside, stroking the leather lightly without thinking, and Bee was flipping through stations like one sometimes flips through television channels, just looking for the right tune, just looking for a comfortable melody.
48. Virtuous
The fingers that curled around his body were gentle and loose and secure, and he had never expected aliens to exist, and mostly he had never expected a division of them to be so inherently good.
3. Wishes
Outside the city limits, past curfew, Sam spread out on Bumblebee’s hood and thought quietly that there wasn’t much more to be wished for when the star shower swept overhead.
21. Quiet
The soft whir of machinery on standby and the beat of a human heart softly complimented each other; it was not loud or clumsy; it was Bumblebee curled up around Sam curled up around Bumblebee, dozing until morning.
7. Waste / Wasteland
When his eyes cracked open, all he could see was blue, blue, blue, just the sky and the feel of metal cooled by early morning beneath his fingertips; it was a good place to be.
43. Nuance
A cloudless sky above them, and both he and Bee lay reclined on the grass, where Sam took in every detail of Bee’s armor – Every shadow and disk of metal, every black, yellow, or silvery part – the subtle whir of blue optics, the sheer depth of them visible even from this distance – Every delicate detail, and Sam had never seen something or somebody more beautiful.
41. Nowhere
“There’s nowhere I would rather be right now, than here with you.”
Musical Moments
2. Waltz
In response to the human’s desperation, Bee had only one idea; but when the faint, tinny sound of Blue Danube interrupted a rock number, and it was suddenly the two of them and Johann Strauss waltzing at seventy-miles-per-hour over the blacktop, Sam’s head fell backwards and he began to laugh hysterically; “I am not taking Mikaela dancing for her birthday, God, Bumblebee!”
34. Serenade
“Bee, I’m being serious,” Sam snapped impatiently, but the ornery thing continued to play that sappy song in response.
35. Sarcasm
“Beautiful, Bee, I’m not gonna get hell for that later,” but he grinned as they accelerated beyond the capacity of an Earth-made vehicle, leaving the asshole in the dust.
Beginning Moments
38. Sojourn
It was always supposed to be a temporary stay, and for that reason Bumblebee had never let himself grow fond of the warm sun; but of course, the destruction of the Cube changed everything, and so he no longer had any qualms about acting on this love he felt toward an organic being who shone even brighter, even brighter.
46. Horizon
It got pretty bad pretty fast; like when Sam would sort of get a thrill from things like a sunset-colored horizon, or Mikaela’s “Banana Blaze” nail polish, and especially, especially just walking towards Bee and feeling that yellow was the safest, warmest color.
13. Bias
“Look at that one,” it slipped out of Mikaela’s mouth, a hushed breath, and Sam’s brow immediately furrowed as he looked it over, two lanes over – She seemed to realize her misstep and conceded, “It’s not Bumblebee—” “Yeah, it’s not Bee,” Sam decided –Mikaela fairly jumped out of her skin when the Autobot’s humble opinion blasted out of his speakers, and the boy laughed.
Candid Moments
22. Quirks
The Mystical Bond between Man and Machine is one thing, but most people were of the opinion that Sam’s odd affinity with his car had long since trespassed into the realm of quirkiness.
1. Walking
Sam only walked when it was absolutely unavoidable, like at midnight from his bedroom to the fridge, for example; because now that he had Bumblebee, walking was all but unnecessary.
11. Birthday
“Good morning, son,” “Happy birthday, Sammy!” his parents chorused from their positions on the grass – the boy grinned and responded cheerfully—“I’ll be back in a bit!” called over his shoulder as he walked intently toward sleek lines and yellow paint.
8. Whiskey and Rum
Bee was suckered into allowing it once, but after that experience, he wouldn’t let Sam within ten feet of him with even one ounce, not one ounce.
36. Sordid
His face was pinched up as he flipped the page, most of this dumb summer reading assignment going right over his head; he sighed in exasperation, abruptly; “Bee, what in God’s name does ‘sordid’ mean?”; a pause—“Filthy or dirty; foul, depressingly squalid, morally degraded, exceedingly mercenary—” “Oh, no wonder.”
37. Soliloquy
“Bee, what exactly is a ‘soliloquy’ supposed to be?”; a pause—“Perhaps you should get a dictionary, Sam.”
28. Jousting
Bumblebee never ceased to be tickled by human methods of armed combat, and Sam was starting to understand that.
4. Wonder
The transformation never ceased to amaze him; he watched moving parts slide gracefully into place before Bee shifted on his feet and Sam leaned back to meet the alien’s glowing optics, grinning widely.
27. Jester
It was so cold outside, and they were stuck in traffic; Sam was drinking warm cola and basking in the heat that Bee blew toward him; his breath was steaming up the windows—cracking a lazy smile, he reached one finger forward and drew a childish rendition of the emblem on Bee’s steering wheel on the glass; after a moment, “You’re funny,” resonated with dry humor from the radio, and Sam sniggered.
18. Balloon
“You have to bear with me here, Bee, they’re for my niece, she’s turning eight years old.”
39. Share
When Miles asked to borrow his car, the answer was an incredulous look and a very firm “No”; he wouldn’t even “lend” Bumblebee to Mikaela, for God’s sake.
10. Weddings
On a balmy day in the summertime, Sam drove (or rather, Sam was driven) to and from Mikaela’s wedding, content.
Love
19. Balcony
The lookout point was Tranquility’s very own geological balcony, and Sam and Bee made good use of the romantic implications of that.
6. Whimsy
He was a teenage boy, and Bumblebee was a super-advanced alien robot, but every species is allowed some whimsical moments; so the kiss that Sam gave Bee when all those stars fell didn’t require any explanation.
26. Jump
Friendship and romance are only a hop, skip and a jump apart; once you become friends, the relationship thereafter is no longer in your control at all; any progression is completely understandable, completely sane; the biggest step, Sam assured himself, was becoming tight with an enormous alien robot; the romance in comparison was kind of like just falling innocently into an embrace.
47. Valiant
“For example, you’re brave, and strong-willed, and just strong, Sam,” the yellow ‘Bot paused for a moment before continuing, “Besides, I do like your sense of humor.”
49. Victory
Their first real kiss had truly been a victory; alien robots didn’t traditionally kiss in a physical sense, but Bumblebee wanted this to be as traditional an experience as Sam could get, and Sam wasn’t complaining, since he would never be able to entirely shake the conviction that affection was expressed through mostly physical acts; anyway, Bumblebee cupped Sam carefully in his hands and brought him up to his face, and Sam stood awkwardly, finding his balance before he finally leaned forward to place the tips of his fingers against the oddly mild temperature of Bee’s metal skin; Bee couldn’t extinguish the electric, deep blue color of his eyes, but he dampened the intensity with a subtle grace, urging Sam to close the distance and find the most comfortable uneven metal plate to press his lips around, even went so far as to push his tongue against the unyielding metal, and Bee leaned into it with a swimming happiness, like this was just right.
Sensual Moments
14. Burning
He arched at the sensation like liquid lightning, clawing for purchase on a smooth metal surface and sweat scorched trails across his skin; he whined, he writhed, he wanted; it was all so fast, all so fast, too warm; the juxtaposition of deliberately cool armor was his undoing; the fire exploded outward as they reached completion.
25. Quitting
“Don’t stop,” Sam gasped.
31.Smirk
Pulling the keys from the ignition, Sam slid out of the car and walked towards the house, slowly dragging his fingertips over Bumblebee’s hood; for good measure, he threw a knowing smirk over his shoulder before he broke away and jogged the rest of the way inside.
Reprieve
20. Bane
Sam made it easy for Bee to however temporarily forget about the war and the Decepticons, and that’s saying something.
32. Sorrow
Bumblebee might have been upbeat and unconquerable, and Sam might have just been a human with some uncomplicated life, but there were always those days where they needed each other the most.
40. Solitary
When he wanted to be alone, he usually went out for a drive; the funny thing is that he was never alone when he did that, and that was something he fully realized.
12. Blessing
There was a short, short discrepancy between the time Sam plopped down onto the leather and the time the engine roared to life; a split second when they didn’t need to vocalize their shared feelings of awe – that such a blessing could be sent, after all this time and hardship.
Thoughts on War
5. Worry
Leaving Bumblebee behind in that state felt a little bit like plunging a huge iron hook into his body, securing it around his spine, putting the attached chain in Bee’s hand, and taking off running while everything important was dragged out and strewn across the streets, to leave him hollow and sick with worry.
30. Just
“Just a dream, just a dream,” his sleepy voice shook as he nevertheless stumbled over to the window to peek out at his closest friend, glimmering safely in his usual spot.
45. Natural
After all that they’d been through, Sam wasn’t really ready to go back to school—As a matter of fact, he had been sitting in the car for ten minutes, contemplating escape options, mumbling—“Just act natural, they tell me,” he complained to Bee, who laughed happily at his expense – Even though he was the one who got to idle for eight hours while Sam truly suffered.
44. Near
Once, Bee’s arm was heavily damaged in battle; afterward, Ratchet worked on it for several hours, and Sam wouldn’t be persuaded to leave, not with sparks and blue electricity jumping from the open wound, nor Bumblebee’s noises of distress and pain; he stayed close the entire time, unwavering.
9. War
For a simpler life, Sam wouldn’t have given up one gasping, bleeding, horrifying moment of it, or the quiet parts where they took reprieve in the rubble and became not comrades or friends or brothers or lovers, but something beyond; one unit; a bond deeper than any other.
Dissonance
24. Quarrel
They never really fought; when they had a disagreement, Bee would simply lock Sam out of the car, or inside it while he played grating music; it all blew over eventually, and then it was kind of funny.
33. Stupidity
Earlier than he would normally wake up, Sam trudged outside with an air of exhaustion and neediness; still, the door didn’t pop open for him, and when he wrapped his fingers around the handle, it remained grimly locked; red-rimmed eyes and disheveled hair and sleep pants—his body sagged and he propped his chin up on the roof of the car, eyes searching the horizon for something—“I’m sorry, Bee,” he said softly, fully aware that the Autobot was fully conscious and listening and resisting, “I was stupid,” – A long moment of silence, and then the door popped open and nudged his entire front, always forgiving.
42. Neutral
When it was an argument between Sam and his parents, Bee always remained carefully neutral.
Thoughts on Death
16. Breaking
He could hear the high-pitched whine of machinery pushed too hard, just as he could hear Bee’s unspoken words: “I know my limitations, I’ve known them for a thousand years, don’t tell me to slow down,” just as he could hear his own voice say out loud, “Slow down, Bumblebee. What’s wrong?”, just as he heard the long squeal of tires, and then the only sound was Bee’s strained voice, slicing through the air like a preacher’s at a funeral: “Every day, you’re breaking, you’re dying,” and then he couldn’t hear anything as a cold ocean rose up above his heart and into his ears and even past his eyes.
23. Question
There were no questions to ask, and an infinite number of questions between them; Sam could not live forever, and he would die someday.
17. Belief
Sam did not believe that he could be given this extraordinary gift just to have it permanently taken by human mortality; they had to believe that there would be something more, after.
50. Defeat
“Bee, what will you do if I live to be really old—Like, wrinkly-old—” Sam asked; the Autobot gave him a slightly horrified look; “I don’t intend for you to die any sooner,” Bee stated gruffly, as if daring Sam to imply again that he might die early; “But, I mean… Wrinkly—” “Surely you’re not concerned that your physical deterioration will turn me away...” wryly, a glare, “I mean, what are you going to do if I get stuck in a wheel chair for the rest of my life--basically, I'd never be able to see you again,” a long silence; “No, I… could possibly transform into one of those,” Bee sounded uncertain and determined all at once, but Sam wasn’t upright long enough to hear it, laughing so hard that tears streamed down his face and he knew he’d been defeated.
